Why Creative Tides?

When people ask me why I quit my job to start this company I have to take a deep breath and reorient all the thoughts that I so quickly want to share.

Creative Tides was created out of longing to care well for people, for their stories, for the events that life throws at us, for the impact we have.

Creative Tides was created to walk alongside individuals in their life, in their marriages, in their workplace, in the growth of their families, in the loss of their loved ones.

Creative Tides was created to be a platform to learn, to collaborate, to join together in community, and to celebrate each other.

Little did I know in February of 2020, when Creative Tides first launched, the whole world would quickly shut down making events a bit more tricky to navigate.

Here we are, almost three years later and a whole lot in this world has changed. Three years later I am more sure than ever that Creative Tides is really needed in this world.

Creative Tides was created to challenge the way things are being done. The event industry, in particular, is an extremely consumer valued industry. I believe that at the core of who we are as humans that we are intended for relationship and that all events deserve relational equity that fits into every budget.

Creative Tides was created to decrease competition and scarcity and recognize we all live in an extremely abundant world with an abundance of resource. Creative Tides is all about asking tough questions about how to create resource to be able to share resource.

Creative Tides was created to destroy the misconception of perfection and hold a mirror up to comparison. If I am being honest with myself and with you I think this may be the trickiest part and the most exciting. If relationships are central to everything than we all know that perfection is not attainable. I am way more interested in who you are than what you’ve got to offer.

Your story is so important and Creative Tides seemed like the best way to come alongside you, right where you are at.

So why Creative Tides? Well, why not? In the wise words of Jackie DeShannon “ What the world needs now is love, sweet love. It's the only thing that there's just too little of. What the world needs. now is love, sweet love, No not just for some but for everyone.”

The world does not need another event planner, photographer, graphic designer, florist, I gettttt it. What the world does need now is individuals to step up to plate and challenge enterprise. The world needs people to ask better questions, care a little deeper, see people and not just their net worth. Creative Tides was created because it is what I have already been trying to do, just now with a website, a cute logo, and an invitation to not do it alone.

I hope you’ll continue this conversation and that you’ll take a risk and share your story. I hope you’ll come alongside this vision and you’ll let Creative Tides come alongside you in the most unique way we know how. I hope if you’re a creative you’ll join this community. I hope together we become more united, create positive impact, and learn through our strengths and weaknesses.
